Yes!  We did reach our goal of $50,000!!!  Thanks be to God!

On behalf of the Dambana Team, Thank You so much to all who contributed in making this dream of our Filipino Shrine a reality for our community!  This is a wonderful accomplishment of a goal that we launched just in February of this year!

We are truly blessed to be able to complete this wonderful legacy for the Glory of God!

So, if you are wondering if we are done, the answer is no, not yet…

Please rest assured that when all is completed, we will publish a complete accounting of receipts and expenses.  We appreciate all your patience and understanding that our Dambana Team is not able to publicize reports until everything is reconciled.

When you see the Dambana, the leadership team is confident that you will appreciate the quality and craftsmanship of our Shrine.  We have been blessed with many talented individuals and generous donors, who all helped in keeping our costs within budget.

For your information, when the team first came up with our initial budget, it was 2007, and we based our numbers on the cost of the Polish Shrine (Our Lady of Czechostowa), constructed a couple of years prior to ours.  Thanks to the expertise and pro bono work of A.C. Schommer & Sons, we were able to tap on valuable resources in the construction field.  We were also very fortunately blessed with the generosity of Pacific Metal, through the solicitation of Lourdes Rice, who provided our copper roofing.  Our sculptures were lovingly done by our very own Ferdie Sacdalan, Portland based Filipino folk-artist.  Our capiz shells were donated and directly airmailed to us by members of the Katigbak family.  99% of printed materials were compliments of Perfect Plus Professional Support.  There are countless hours, immeasurable treasures, and invaluable talents that went into the completion of the Dambana.  We are indeed blessed!

If the goal has been reached, why are we still collecting donations for the Dambana?

· a)  Because we'd like to set up a starting fund to contribute for the upkeep and maintenance of The Dambana and The Grotto,

· b)  Because we did not plan for the expenses related to the dedication and inauguration of the Shrine, i.e. big screens, live-video feed, etc.,

· c)  and we may still add benches and a parol to make the Dambana identical to the artist's vision.

If you still have questions about the fundraising portion of this mission, please do not hesitate to contact Dolly Pangan-Specht at 503.407.7234, or dollyps@yahoo.com

As we say at St. Clare Parish, "May the blessing of God be upon you!"
